LEED in the Suburbs – Sustainability proves to be a winning concept outside of urban areas.

When Concord Hospitality broke ground last year on Courtyard by Marriott Settlers Ridge in Pittsburgh, the Raleigh, N.C., company wasn’t just pouring the foundation for LEED-certified, green building with a Silver design rating. Concord was also setting a foundation for its own major corporate shift – one that signaled a new commitment to build hotels, from that point forward, certified as green by the U.S. Green Building Council.
