Concord Hospitality has been named to the 2016 Grant Thornton North Carolina 100® (NC100), which ranks the state’s largest private companies by revenue. Concord’s Julie Richter has been also recognized as the Chief Financial Officer of the Year by the same organization.
“We are proud to be recognized as one of the largest privately-held businesses in North Carolina and are pleased to see that Julie is being recognized for her great work,” said Mark Laport, co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Concord. “These awards reaffirm our prominence in the marketplace and our commitment to the community.”
One of the state’s biggest hotel operators, Concord owns or manages more than 90 hotels with a total of 13,000 rooms throughout North America and Canada. It has 4,000 employees and operates under brands including Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton, reporting annual revenue of approximately $500 million.
Julie Richter’s success can be attributed to a mix of accounting acumen and relationship-building skills that have impressed investors and lenders and helped finance an expanding pipeline of hotels. “It is great to figure out how to make a transaction work, which in our world means growth for our core business and job creation for a lot of people who are really passionate about making a difference in the lives of their guests,” she says.
Since 1984, the NC100 has ranked the state’s largest private companies by revenue in the most recent fiscal year, based on data provided by the participants.
