Concord Hospitality’s The Ben Recognized as a Leader in the Boutique and Luxury Hotel Industries
The Autograph Collection hotel in West Palm Beach receives nine awards during its first year open
RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 7, 2021) – An award-winning hotel development and management company, Concord Hospitality Enterprises is pleased to announce that The Ben West Palm, an Autograph Collection hotel located in West Palm Beach, Fla., received nine awards and accolades during 2020, firmly cementing it as a leader in the boutique and luxury hotel industries during its first year open.
Developed, owned and managed by Concord Hospitality, The Ben is part of Concord’s growing management portfolio of 128 hotels with over 20,000 rooms in the U.S. and Canada. Concord Hospitality prides itself on building hotels that drive quality from the ground up, while also emphasizing the need to establish a clear strategy and stay on time and within budget. The Ben’s recognitions are a testament to the knowledge and expertise of the multiple teams of associates at Concord Hospitality it takes to bring a project like this to fruition.
The property received a number of accolades during 2020. It was named a 2020 Muse Hotel Awards winner in the World Class Boutique Hotel category and Luxury Boutique Retreat category. Held annually, the Muse Awards acknowledge some of the best luxury and boutique hotels around the world.
During the NEWH/South Florida Golden Palms Awards 2020, The Ben was named Project of The Year and also awarded Best Lobby & Public Spaces, Best Guestroom and Best Hotel. NEWH/South Florida’s Golden Palm Awards recognize hospitality excellence within multiple categories including restaurants, guestrooms, hotels, resorts, public spaces, cruise/yachts and more.
Proper Grit, one of The Ben’s on-site restaurants, was named Best Restaurant Casual Dining during the 2020 Boutique Design Magazine Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design. A chophouse with a dining room that pays homage to Old Florida’s regal beginnings, Proper Grit is known for its locally sourced, curated cuisine and modern cocktails. The hotel was also selected as a finalist in two other Gold Key categories: Best Guestroom Upscale and Best Lobby Upscale. This year marked the 40th annual Gold Key Awards, the industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards program for hospitality interiors, sponsored by Boutique Design magazine. The Ben also ranked at No. 3 on Conde Nast’s Top 15 Hotels in Florida: Readers’ Choice Awards 2020 and was featured in Commercial Construction Renovation’s Project Profile Awards 2020.
“We are extremely pleased that our Concord Hospitality team has been recognized locally, nationally and within the hospitality industry for The Ben’s unique offerings and excellence in service,” said Carl Hren, Senior Vice President of Development at Concord Hospitality. “We knew this property was special when we opened it this past February, and we look forward to bringing similar properties to life in the near future as Concord Hospitality continues to execute on its robust pipeline of opportunities.”
The 208-room hotel – opened in February 2020 – features a modern design aesthetic reflecting the spirit of the Ben Trovato Estate, one of West Palm Beach’s original homes. Byrd Spilman Dewey, a prolific leader of the pioneer era in Florida, gave her 1892 Victorian home the name Ben Trovato, literally meaning “well invented.” Reimagined for today, The Ben creatively channels Dewey’s joie de vivre, love of entertaining, whimsical interests and personal passions. Much like the Ben Trovato Estate, this hotel is a place for socialization, lively conversation and enrichment. The Ben is located at 251 N. Narcissus Avenue, one block from vibrant Clematis Street, minutes away from the newly reimagined Rosemary Square and a short drive from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).
