Concord Hospitality Named Marriott’s Top Franchise Performer for Revenue Management & Sales Leadership
RALEIGH, N.C., June 20, 2012—Concord Hospitality Enterprises, one of the nation’s top-ranked hotel developer/owner/operators, announced that the company received the 2011 Marriott Global Leadership Top Revenue Management Franchise Partner Award for the Americas. The annual award recognizes the brand’s top franchise performer for revenue management leadership.
“Congratulations to Concord Hospitality on winning the Revenue Management Team of the Year Award,” said Dave Roberts, Marriott’s senior vice president of global revenue management. “This is greatly deserved. This team has the proven ability to drive results in some very challenging markets. They stay closely connected with their general managers and partner disciplines, and they ensure that the whole revenue management team is trained on the use of all of the latest tools and systems. They are very impressive!”
Operating more than 60 Marriott Branded hotels, Concord grew market share indices for the third straight year in a row, highlighted by significant RevPAR Index growth (Revenue Per Available Room) of 2.55% in their managed SpringHill Suites Hotels and 3.19% in their managed Residence Inn by Marriott Hotels.
“It is unusual in today’s delivery of revenue management to see a group of analysts with such a rich background in both sales and operations,” said Kevin McAteer, Concord’s vice president of sales and marketing. This has allowed us to put a scope of services in place that includes our revenue managers taking ownership of portions of the hotel’s marketing and sales action plan. This clearly has set us apart from the rest of the pack.
“As we climbed out of tough economic times and entered stronger demand trends that give us more average rate opportunity, it was a natural progression to make sure we have the best capabilities in the industry to lead revenue management for our hotels,” said Mark Laport, Concord’s president and CEO.
